End of Year PARCC TESTING: May 11-13

Monday: RL, study for spelling

Wednesday: RL, study for spelling, reread story of the week

Other Important Information:
Reading: We will read Jalapeno Bagels and will focus on how illustrations can help us better comprehend a story. Students will take their selection test on THURSDAY!
Writing: We will be finishing up our autobiographies and will finish the year doing two argumentative projects-a debate about cell phones and creating a brochure about our fabulous state of Illinois! We will also continue to learn and read various poems throughout the spring and write some of our own to add to our poetry notebooks and our Poet-Tree bulletin board.
Spelling: We will focus on more words with the vowel sound in ball. Students will take their test on Thursday.
Science: Students are learning about different energy sources.

- Students will listen to the book, Miss Alaineus, read by Mr. Haugens
- Poetry, Pastries & Parents 7:45 am - 8:20 am
- Wacky Wednesday-Word Craze Day.
- Students are encouraged to dress up as a Vocabulary Word. There will be a Vocabulary Parade during the school day
- Writer’s Fair Assembly at 9:00 AM
- Writer’s Fair Sharing 2:00-3:05 PM
- Portfolio Night: 6:30-8:00 PM
- NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

- Reading Logs: Students were given May reading logs today. April logs were due today, but can still be turned in for partial credit next week.
- Math: Students may have homework depending on their math teacher.
